Jack Collins: A Rising Star of RC Racing and a Testament to Youthful Dedication
At only 16 years old, Jack Collins is already making a name for himself in the world of RC racing, demonstrating the same drive and passion as other young prodigies in various sports.
Based in St. Leonard's on-sea, Jack is a student in Year 11 at Robertsbridge Community College, where he enjoys learning about science, a subject he finds incredibly useful for his racing pursuits.
Jack's passion for racing started early on when he followed in his family's footsteps and began racing real cars on ovals. Over the years, he won several championships and made it to the world cup, where he became the vice champion of the world at only 12 years old.
In search of a more accessible sport that he could share with his dad, Jack discovered RC racing. The bug bit, and he's been hooked ever since. In addition to his love for racing, Jack also discovered a passion for the media side of motorsport. He became a volunteer camera operator and commentator for DDRC.TV, showcasing his enthusiasm and knowledge for the sport.
Morgan Williams, a fellow racer, has been a huge influence on Jack's career, and he's grateful for Morgan's support and guidance. To maintain his competitive edge, Jack's training and preparation for races include going to the gym six days a week, which he believes helps him focus and improves his consistency.
When asked about how he handles pressure and stress during races, Jack believes confidence is key. He advises new and aspiring RC racers to have fun, learn how to set up the car, and repeat.
Jack's proudest moment so far was finishing second in the first leg of the A final at KOC22 RND5, where he drove a blinder of a race and kept the gap between him and Charlie at four seconds. Looking ahead, Jack's future goals and aspirations include becoming a national champion and racing a round of the ETS championship.
He believes that time management is key to balancing his passion for RC racing with his responsibilities and commitments outside of racing, such as his upcoming GCSE exams and his volunteer work with DDRC.TV.
When he's not racing or contributing to the media side of motorsport, Jack enjoys spending time with his friends, watching Rick and Morty and South Park, and supporting St. Michael's Hospice, a cause he's passionate about due to their help and care for his late grandmother.
With his passion, dedication, and talent, Jack Collins is another rising star in the RC racing world, and he's definitely one to watch in the years to come. His story serves as an inspiration to other young athletes, proving that hard work and determination can lead to greatness.
